We'll be passing the emails to Turbine along with the character data after our service closes, Turbine won't be able to email you until then.

As your email address is acting as the unique identifier of the account, if they don't match, they won't merge. Your characters will end up on the account that has the same email address as the one we pass across, though if there are exceptions, that is something Turbine needs to tell you.

I'm sorry we don't have any more details about the transfer, it is information that Turbine need to provide.

So now we at least have some idea on schedule now.
The next thing we should hear is from Turbine after Europe has closed; if I've interpreted it correctly.

We’ve recently received a lot of questions from our players regarding how character transfers work. Please note the following if you’re having characters transferred:

If your character’s name is already in use by another character, you will be able to select a new name for your character.
To update your character's name, simply type the following command, replacing "newname" with the name you want: /rename newname
Only items in a character’s personal inventory, personal bank, and equipped items will transfer. The following items will not transfer:
Auctions or unclaimed auction winnings
Items in a reincarnation cache
Mail or items attached to mail
Unclaimed quest end rewards
Items in the Buyback vendor window
Guilds, friends lists, and ignore lists will not copy over.
Note that your character’s favor amounts will transfer, but server rewards (e.g. drow, favored soul, 32 point build) do not transfer. You can unlock those favor rewards via the following methods:
Earning the favor with a new character
A character who has the proper favor amount, but who has not spoken with Nyx previously
Purchase of the account-wide versions in the DDO Store

I saw that too, but the discussion that followed seems to think it applies to transfers between existing servers; not to incoming European toons.

Of course; I could be completely and utterly wrong.

I don't really have much hope for gear in shared bank to come over too.

Somewhere amongst the many threads about it, Tolero confirms it is about the EU to US transfer, everyone seems peeved that they're not getting their shared bank space, think people should be grateful we're getting them at all!

It gets worse - all EU characters are being transferred to Ghallanda - and it will be |$24.95 PER CHARACTER to move them between servers.

Now that we are operating the global service and can discuss these issues directly we expect to be able to provide a smoother experience going forward.

In the meantime we appreciate your patience as we work to address your concerns about the new combined service.

While everyone is settling in, we thought it would be nice to share some introductions and tips to help you feel at home.

Important notes

- We’re currently offering support in English only at the DDO community sites. We hope to begin expanding our German and French support later this year, so we thank you for your patience in the meantime! Feel free to say hello, reunite with old friends, and get to know each other in our European player forums! Click here for French or click here for German! (We ask that until the German and French language support is set up that all public facing communications outside the German and French forums be made in English. We apologize for the inconvenience!)

Final character transfer dates have not yet been announced. Once we have a target release for the character transfer service we will make that date public.
Former EU players should not expect any e-mail from Turbine in the short term as we have not yet received the list of players who have chosen to share their data with us.
Until we receive the final opt-in list we will also not be able to link US and EU account data. We expect this process to take a number of weeks to complete as players continue to opt into the transfer process.
If you have not yet opted-in to share your EU data with us please visit https://cogaccounts.codemasters.com/ to opt-in immediately. We will have no account data for players who do not opt in and will not be able to deliver any Turbine Points or restored characters without this information.

Hi everyone! We wanted to update the thread with the latest information available:
Remember: if you’ve not yet opted in via the CM account site, please do so immediately by clicking here!
We are aiming to have character transfer services to Ghallanda available before the end of September.
We do plan to have full French and German language support for DDO at a later time as well.
More updates will be provided as they are available, so thanks for your patience everyone!

So maybe another 5 weeks yet....
